I know I'm going to get yelled at for not posting the actual model but I couldn't wait.  Here's the color mockup using a Hawk 100 instead of the Goshawk, but I think you guys get the jist of it.

JUST got the orange on now, will let dry for a couple days at least.

Enjoy!

Perhaps a Hawk 100/Goshawk hybrid with the Hawk 100 nose and equipment fit on a Goshawk?

Goshawk?    I didn't know Israel had carriers.

They should be buying BAe Hawks already. Mind you, our dip poo-poo government would block the sale as it conflicts with their 'ethical foreign policy'.    I kid you not, India wanted a load of new Hawks off us but Blair's mob wouldn't sell them in case it 'escalated tensions with Pakistan'!! For fecks sake. It's a bloody trainer. India's got MiGs already!  :dum:  Sell some to Pakistan if you're feeling guilty. Did India say 'Oh, alright then, we'll do without' or did they go buy trainers off the Russians?

Actually, I honestly don't know what they did.

Anyway, stupid idiot UK government, scuppering much needed military aeroplane sales, don't get me started and read my signature.  ;)

According to GlobalSecurity.org, they went ahead with plans to develop their own design, fitted with off-the-shelf equipment:

Looks like a baby Hawk.

IF the Israelis did have a carrier, the Saudis, Syrians, and virtually every other nation in that part of the world would crap in their collective trousers.  It would almost be worth it to see that.

If the Israelis did have a carrier, they might've held on to their Skyhawks a bit longer.  Those are now in the hands of Advanced Training Systems International, out of Arizona.  They handle a lot of Navy and Air Force DACT, now that some of the Aggressor squadrons have been disbanded.  Most of them are still wearing their IDF-AF paint:

I thought the Indians signed the Hawk deal a couple of months ago?

I think the artwork looks great, looking forward to seeing the finished article.

I'll be doing some single-seat Goshawk/Hawk's and instead of using the Hawk 100 nose I'll just paint over the rear cockpit area to keep that nice hump the Hawk has.

Yeap the Indian Air Force ordered 66 in march after we ordered our advanced version.  Also included in the deal was the for the Indian Pilot to come and train at RAF Valley with the Royal Air Force until their hawks are delivered. The indians will recieve the first batch from BAE then the rest will be assemble by HAL and i think they are also chasing a production licence to build more should the need arise.

The other indigineous trainer is actually more of a basic trainer, with the Hawks to be used for the advanced training as too many Indian pilots are being killed whilst trying to master the Mig-21 and they don't want the same to happen to the Su-30's they will be getting.

So the Indian option gives lots of opertunities for us What-if lot as with their carriers they might want a Goshawk variant for deck training. Then there are the hunter & mig-21 replacements as light strike aircraft or close air defence.

As to the Isreali's they did consider the Hawk & the Alpha jet in the late 80's early 90's but decided on updating their Magisters untill they could decide on a replacement. Now i suppose the Korean T-50 Golden Eagle would be a prime candidate (come on Academy do a kit of the T-50 asap - or we will have to see about butchering and F-16).

Cheers

Thats not entirely accurate, the IDAF still has a few sqns fly the scooter (mostly the 2 seater, but there are a few N's left in the pile), one of which is based in the Negev ( Flying wing? I picked a bad day to quit reading AFM!) and is the primary advance jet training squadron.

The idea is that the IAF wanted 100 series but the British govt' balked.  The US steps in with the T-45-"hey it's almost a Hawk" so they buy them instead.  I'm removing the cat bar but kept the hook, added countermeausre dispensers on the spine, wingtip rails and FLIR on the nose.  Advanced training/weapons training, light strike aircraft.

The hardest part was color.  Do I go operational and load it down, or training scheme.  Went the latter; best of both worlds.  One training AIM-9, gunpod, one rocket pod and one Mk82.  Oh and the dayglo nose and tips.

Mmmmmmm dayglo.........
