Keep the white then, it'd be different enough.

My favourite is this one though.  Appeared on a f ew different aircraft from late sixties onward.  Blue cheatline with gold trim, white uppers, sometimes white or grey lowers but my favouritist is the mid-blue.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

How about the original F-104 NASA colours? NMF with orange and yellow.

That looks neat!

However, if I was to build one, I would have a brighter orange & I would have the orange not fall away slowly, like it does, but begin to fall away at the 1st drop point; then follow the upper contour of the fuselage to under the front edge of the canopy (where it meets the windscreen); then I'd have the orange fall away faster, so that it was vertical in line with the front of the windscreen. ;D

But that's me & I don't intend building one. ;)

Looks like I'm building a number of these to cover all the bases!     Incidentally, what is the collective noun for lightnings?  A "zoom" perhaps?     Can anyone suggest better?

Come to think of it, a THUNDER of   Lighnings might be appropriate

Brilliant! Apt and exactly the effect on anyone within a few miles of them.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
