They have a contacts page at - http://sandlehobbies.com/content.aspx?St=true&pageID=3

Unfortunately I live on the otherside of the continent (2.5 hour time difference).  Perhaps one of the eastern states' members might volunteer to contact them on your behalf by phone?

I tried contacting this lot about a year ago.  I wanted to confirm they actually had the kit I was after in stock prior to ordering since some webstores don't update their online data that often.  I never ever received any replies to my questions, thus I did not order anything out of distrust.  I understand other people, including possibly members of this forum, have been burnt before with them too.

I hope you receive your products.

My personal experience has not been good. I've found their communication to be very poor and delivery times excruciatingly long (I think they keep very low stock levels, but I could be wrong).

Lurking on the Aussie Modeller International Forums (http://www.aussiemodeller.com.au), and I get the impression that the owners are fundamentally OK and have a good reputation.

That said, I'm afraid my business will not be going that way again, which is a shame, 'cos they have some interesting stuff..

regretably Australians don't have a good reputation for being Businessmen.  My cousin refuses to employ them and he & several Euro & US industrialists I've dealt with say they won't waste their time with Aussie companies again -- the world now stops at the southern tip of Singapore :-\

I strongly disagree with you there.  In fact Australian's have actually led many multi-national companies both here in Australia and overseas and have won wide respect for their business ability.  Your cousin is denying himself stupidly.  There are incompetent businesses/owners etc worldwide - I know from my own dealings in Europe, the USA, Asia and the Middle East that there are many overseas doing things that would be totally unacceptable here in Australia and in fact if they tried to go up against an equivalent Australian company, they would be 'carved up'.

Interesting comment.

I would suggest that your cousin is simply displaying a fair bit of prejudice based upon stereotyping.

Agreed with the previous two.  Dealing with a few aussies then writing off the entire country is asinine.  There are bad and dishonest businessmen on every continent.  Australia should not be blackballed due to a couple, limited, and probably working under the radar encounters.  I happen to know from a few of my personal experiences, as well as experiences at my work, that Aussies are good and honest people and am totally willing to deal with them.

I'd suggest you experience it for yourself and not take your cousin's experiences at face value.  I've run into far more European, American, Russian, Chinese, Mideast, Asian, and African companies that I would never do business with again than Australian.
