I had an idea the other day of combining 2 fighters into one.

Take the Mig-29, get rid of all the wings & tail surfaces & convert the engine space for weapons &/or fuel.
Add 2 Y-wing engines.

The idea might be the basis of a whiff of using a crappy-made mig-29a model with scratchbuilt y-wing engines.

My vote would be for a MiG-21 fuselage with TIE Interceptor wings and some big guns in the nose intake....

I think the interceptor is the way to go, purely just for the look of the thing. But I must admit the fighter variant does have a certain 'retro' charm!

My thoughts exactly!!! I like the MiG Tie's, especially the squint model, but whio in thier right mind would lumber something as sleek as a Flanker with Y wing engines?? Koonsayers finest ain't exactly fast you know... Ok, so provision for shield generators and a hyperdrive??

Really, really like those MiG-TIE-uglies!

Cheapo TIE interceptor and TIE Advanced wings can be taken from the Revell "easykit pocket" series. I'm sure the TIE Interceptor has a scale of 1/96, but I'm not sure about the TIE Advanced/Vader's TIE.
Actually got one of the Interceptor kits to mix it with an F-104 Starfighter, as per Bladerunner's profile (CLICKY!).

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

The standard TIE hexagon wings would look good on an EE Lightning fuselage. The tall, slabby fins would go with the tall, slab-sided fuselage somehow.

How about re-arranging bits of He-111, Fw-189 and Bv-141 into a 1940s B-wing?

If you can find one Anakin's Podracer has some really cool, detailed, and fairly large engines. Mine are probably going on a MiG -37 Ferret in the near future
