In WW2 the Germans had a bit of obsession with giving aircraft a divebombing capacity even if it was obviously ill suited to the role.

This would be the chance for you to build something in a role that it wasn't actually designed for or is ill suited for

How many 0.5 brownings could you fit into a Lancasters wing

The Wellington Glider tug

The Tigermoth tankbuster complete with 20 mm cannons

The Spitfire Torpedo bomber

Now that you mention the Lancaster: it'd be fun to do a Lanc as an American-style daylight bomber, ie with heavier armament and armor, and a much lighter bomb load as a result. And NMF.

Just for the hell of it........B29 with split brakes along the wing like a Dauntless.......with a tallboy/grand slam diving from 35,000 and pulling out.....god knows when.....for use againt large cruiser/battleships or bridges/fixed positions/sub pens.....ludacris (?).......mad....yeah I know.....

Aerobatic airliner?

Bubble canopy, dive brakes, structure stressed to 13G, huge, lower-aspect wings for low wing loading and lower bending moment and fixed undercarriage to avoid big skin cutouts. Of course, it either has no payload or no range, but hey, it's fun.....
