Some interesting aircraft from "RahXephon"

Just finished watching this anime (not bad, though not great), which featured some interesting aircraft designs:

This JSDF fighter:



Which gets roundly beaten by these Flanker-ish things with huge underwing pods (a "Trans-Dimensional Drive" as it happens)


The hotshot ace gets a shiny red custom job, naturally:




And there's this flying boat transport:


There are a few others, but I didn't take any more screen grabs as they're not quite as interesting.

I like the flyingboat transport plane, that one looks buildable, if not exactly the same something similar could be done.

Like those planes, reckon the Flying Boat needs a bit more rudder area though. How many stars out of ten for the Anime Pyro? Was thinking of getting it.

Probably a 6.5 or 7? There's too much left unanswered for my taste, though it is entertaining. Worth watching. If you liked Neon Genesis Evangelion, you'll like Rahxephon. If NGE annoyed you beyond words, you'll hate this too.

Thanks Pyro, rating of 6.5 or 7 makes it look worth a go, I'm usually happy if there's a few good mechanical designs. Music sounded pretty good to me too.
I liked NGE except for the ending when they ran out of money and just did a rush job  and a lot of still frames to try to finish it.  There's a hell of a lot of crap endings in Anime but the ride getting there is usually great!
