The Resin Shipyard, home of Hawk Graphics has finally released a 1/700 resin kit. The chosen subject being the current mainstay of the Canadian Navy the Halifax class frigate.

It should make an interesting alternative to the standard USN & RN fare that's available

Not cheap, but Resin warships generally are not, so given its got etch and decals its competitively priced with the similar fare from US & European Resin Ship producers

Hurray!

I've wanted one of those for a very long time. I was planning on doing one of our "new" subs, HMCS Victoria in it's lovely floating box, but they finally towed it out after a stay of sevaral years. Darn, and I had the box almost ready too! :)

Living in Victoria BC, next to CFB Esquimalt, we get to see Halifax class ships pretty often, and get asked in the hobby shop on a regular basis if there are any kits available. Sadly, resin is out of reach cost wise and out of ability for the vast majority of modellers, but it will still be nice to have something to offer in 1/700 now.
