VEB/Plasticart 1/72 An-14.  Neat little kit except mine had what looked like some sort of nut shell (!) stuck all over the parts, like the mold puller was having a snack on the production line!  And of course there was some in the clear parts.  :banghead:  Bah, whatever.  Table filler.

So here we have a forward air controller Mexican Air Force An-14. Markings are homemade, after Rotorhead TX and I had a brainstorming session on what to do with the kit.  UB-16 rocket pods from the Revell MiG-21F kit.

I'm going to dig with my plasticarts and build Lego

Being a Russian/Soviet built aircraft, more likely to have 40mm grenade launchers.  ;D

Funny that you guys mention guns.  I was seriously thinking of strapping a GSh-23 on the side ala Hind but I don't think there was room!

Guess I could have left off the rear entry door and have a bloke there with a bungie rigged dakka............  ;D

Neat build indeed for a Plasticart kit!

Liking that lots Scooterman, great camo! Know what you mean about the crunchy bits stuck in Plasticart kits! ;D

I like this plane. Very interesting and good work.

Looks good. Needs "Don't Shoot!" (or even "¡No disparen!") in big letters on the wings though. ;D

I really do like this, and is exactly the sort of thing I would make one into. I built a Pioneer one a while back but it got destroyed in transit. I didn't know VEB/plasticart did one aas I have not been able to find another one. Nice one

I have to say that I was very surprised by the quality of mouldings of this kit. When Brad and I were looking it over and discussing it's destiny, I found myself wishing I had grabbed it first. I'll admit I have been biased against VEB/Plasticart kits, mainly based on the dodgy quality and accuracy of their helicopters; by way of comparison to their helos, the AN-14 is another league altogether. This one is worth grabbing if it crosses your path.
