The U.S Navy and Marines had been offered several different helicopters over the years to operate in the specialist mission sector. The Marines CH-53's are starting to get long in the tooth, and the SH/MH-60's are too small to carry out the missions the CH-53 do so well. One helicopter  took both the Navies and Marines eye, that being the Agusta/Westland Merlin. A production airframe was modified to suit the requirements of the Navy and Marines and sent across the pond for evaluation. The Merlin was renamed the MH-68 Marlin, and became a very favourable machine by all who flew it. The navy decided to purchase said machine and use it for a long term evaluation, and posted it with the marine expeditionary force sent to Honduras. The Helicopter, although in Navy markings was flown mostly by Marine pilots, who which loved the agility and load capacity of the "Marlin. The Marlin is shown unloading a Weisel tankette, belonging to the Honduras army, and although a tight squeeze, carried the vehicle with ease. This build was made just before I packed all my stuff away, the best part of 3 years ago, and is one of only a few surviving models put into storage. Most of my builds have got badly damaged unfortunately.

That's a good idea: you could say they gained their initial experience with the type during the Marine 1 presidential transport fiasco.

I remember seeing one of those kits somewhere, the Marine one version. I fancy doing another one of these, or a armed NH-90

Cheers, I can't remember of top of my head what the colour is, as it was a while ago when I built it.
