United Nations markings

I'm doing an aircraft up in UN markings.  I'd like to model it on the Caribous that the RAAF contributed to Kashmir in the late 1970s (I once, as a young digger had a very exciting and memorable ride on one which had just returned from Kashmir detachment  ).

I've looking around the web for pictures but can't seem to find any.   From my distant memory I can dredge up that it was white all over and had "UN" titles on the forward fuselage but I can't remember anything else.  Not sure if it carried RAAF roundels as well or fin flashes.

G'day Brian,

Here's a pic of a 'Bou in the scheme over at ADF-Serials.

I think the Hobbycraft kit had a UN option for the markings  :-\

MMm, OK, so my memory was wrong.   No "UN" marking at all.  :(

Thanks for that Mav, thats the clearest one I've seen thus far.

Here is a picture of a 2005 UN aircraft at the Kabul airport I found over at DefenceTalk.

They have not always used the same markings. The Squadron C-47 SkyTrain book shows a RCAF Dakota in UN markings on page 42.  Overall white with medium blue lettering and UN logos.

Hope that helps.

It does and I have one in the stash which I won't be using the decals for (using it for a multitude of parts donated to my De Havilland Buffalo build)

Oh good, cuz I be needin' some too.

EDIT: Not saying I'm looking for yours, I'll pick up a Caribou when next I see one, which I think was actually yesterday.

There's two boxings Dave, one has them and one doesn't (and how do I know --  ;) ).  The one that does shows a white Caribou in the box art

Would it be possible to ask for the decals?

You can, but I've got to find the kit (in a the stash boxes), are you in a rush for them?.  Send me a PM with your mailing addy and I'll drop them in the mail once I find them

No, no, hurry.  Just before the end of the decade would be nice.  ;)   I've still to put the coats of white over it yet.

PM inbound with my snail mail address.
