Back-to-front layout idea, for twin tailers.

Must admit my first thoughts on reading McColm's initial post were "Vickers C". Then I reread it and thought "no, he's really taking about putting the whole tail in front of the wing, so that would mean the fins as well, and that takes the concept a little beyond the canard or De-Lanne type"

I assume that was what was meant anyway ? No matter however as I'd love to see a Vickers C built and that B-36 looks gorgeous

Must get my Planet Arsenal DeLanne out of the stash and build it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That's correct.
The fins act like giant canards and the vertical tail is postioned on the roof behind the glazed cockpit. As for the wings they can be left in  the swept back position as with the larger models the wings don't look right swept forward, well not on the E-3A!!
So a hinged wing or pivot. There is a B-1B bomber on Ebay up for grabs and a fixed wing version of the B-1B using a Victor, Vulcan or B-2 wing would make a great kit build. I've also put a bid in for the B-2 ATB as well.
Failing that I've got a spare set of Nimrod wings & engines section and an Su-17 kit to play with.

Forward mounted verticals and rudders have been tried, and just like forward mounted rudders on boats, and it doesn't
work very well.

Good thing the've got fly-by-wire these days to correct this oversight whilst in-flight.
