Yes, it's exactly that, says so in the article.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A Lightning in ARDU Fanta can would be a headscratcher at shows

I've got the book and that edition of 'Aeroplane' and the latter's RAAF Lightning article I felt differed ever so slightly.

An EE P.8 with 2 EJ200s a cranked arrow double delta wing canard foreplanes & a bubble canopy would be a great idea for a modern
robust simple fighter.

Quote from: PR19_Kit on August 14, 2024, 10:26:47 AMPresumably they assumed the RAAF were thinking of getting a tanker or two?

But the Mirage III was hardly the longest ranged fighter of its time, was it?

The RAAF did seriously consider the Starfighter as well, (twice I believe, F-104A and F-104G). Like the Lightning, I believe there were mods to improve the range, an Avon being one. Trouble was, there wasn't much available at that time that was supersonic with long range that the RAAF could afford.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
