Hey Guys, a Question's been kinda bugging me and Wondering if Anyone could Point me in the Right Direction:During WW2 was the PBY Catalina used by the RN Fleet Air Arm as well as the RAF? just something i've often wondered about? can Anyone tell me where the best Resource would for that data,Please? thanks for looking.Dan

Dan, I think you'll find the RAF were the only British service to operate the Catalina during the War.  The RN's FAA didn't operate large maritime platforms at any stage, these being the premise of the RAF's Coastal Command.  This was the case with the RNZAF and RAAF as well, where these type of aircraft were 'Air Force' types rather than 'Navy' as they were in the US services.

Yeah, Coastal Command had all of them as far as I know. But this is the whiffing world, and doing one in FAA service might be encouraged. Could really mess with some JMN heads...  ;)

I rather like the idea of Coastal Command joining the dark blues, if only to annoy the rivet counters and JMNs.  Anyone for  a Shackleton   or even a Nimrod     with  "HMA/C Scott"  or "RNAS  Frobisher"  painted on the bow?
