Gang:

I have a 1/72 DML Do 335A-12 Pheil and want to replace the front engine with a new nose (combination of solid and glass) for a 3rd crew member. The cross section of the nose is circular and 15 mm in diameter. Why I want to do this I can't say just yet.

I don't have many Luftwaffe A/C so I am looking to the experts to help locate a similar aircraft which has a similar diameter and cross section nose. The He 177 comes to mind but it has the gondola. I check my Ar 234C but it is larger.

I can say the rear engine will drive a contra-rotating prop.

Carl, the Me-262A-2a/U2 was a 'glass nosed' bomber variant that used a prone bomb aimer.  Whilst I haven't the dimensions in front of me, it might do at a pinch.

maybe you need to look at the allies - the B17 had a glass nose - maybe a 144 scale kit might offer the correct nose - maybe in 72 scale  an Anson or similar allied aircraft

I just looked in my collection - the Me 163 canopy might be the go - but upside down so the prone figure looks downward (if a bomber configuration id what you are after) the top of the nose would be solid - maybe put in a couple of little windows (no curtains) like the fuselage of a He111 - I guess look in the spares box in any scale and see what might fit.

good luck
