Any chance of someone doing a 'What If' profile of Curtiss C-46 Commando as a AC-46Gunship in SEAC camouflage and RAAF markings?

Do you mean SEAC the RAF WW2 command or the SEA colour scheme i.e. Vietnam camo? I've done a Vietnam-era AC-46K (re-engined with R-3350s) on this page (scroll down a bit):

Oh somehow I missed this my friend  :banghead:

Very nice!!

Could I request a profile of this (same camouflage) - but in RAAF markings  ;)

Here's a picture I took of a C-46 as a "gate guard" for the Glenn Curtiss museum in Hammondsport, N.Y.:

I don't recall Commandos with "stepped" windshields as in the profile---is that a "modern" development?
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

The other way round AFAIK. There were some, or maybe only one, of the early ones built like that.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The XC-46B, 17 C-46Es and 1 C-46G featured the stepped windshield. It's a guess as to whether the AC-46K would have followed suit, but not an unreasonable one.

There was the planned, but canceled, XC-46K (CW-20-E-2) with R-3350-BD series engines.

Three R-3350-BD powered aircraft were delivered in 1945 as XC-46L (CW-20H).

^ Yup. The profile above uses a R-3350 cowling from a Curtiss XP-62, keeping it in the family as it were. Again, speculative, yes but not an unreasonable assumption to make.
