Entertaining, educational, inspirational, surprising, and just plain fun.

Rather than have a traditional group build, how about have a build for spurious Canberras that never has an end date?

The Airfix GB on Hyperscale generated significant interest throughout its 9 months so long term events have a demand.  Spruebrothers sold out their inventory of B.2 kits in about a week or two so the interest in the new 1/48 Airfix series is there, there are new 1/72 kits coming and others quite available.  The type has at least 10 pages dedicated to it elsewhere on this site which is more than almost any other type.      There is interest at least on the surface.

It's an idea.

How about a 60th anniversary scheme??

Jeepers, we'd have to move fast! The first flight was May 13th 1949!  :o

A good idea!  The 1/48th scale Airfix B-57B/G Canberra is now available so that opens up even more possibilities.  The Martin built Canberra is one of my all time favourites.  Never could get used to the fishbowl or offset canopy arrangements used on the UK versions.  But that 20mm cannon gun pack in the bomb bay is excellent.

Well Nev, if they are in 1/72nd scale and you want to thin the burden down a bit, you know where I am.

1/72 B-57B's are selling for about $US6-7/kit at IPMS contests.

I think some B-57's carried the Phoenix missile when they served with the Defense of the Northern Great Plains unit didn't they?     :drink:

That was a 2.5 year bump, was it a record?

I'd forgotten about the Never Ending Canberra Build, and it looks like everyone else (except DaryJl) had too.
