It's looking good, interesting idea. That nose/intake section reminds me of the F8U-3.

DogfighterZen, its a kit by Freightdog, no idea if its still available or not but I have had it around for a few years as mine is a first batch with the vac-formed canopy as opposed to the later production version which has a resin canopy.

Anyway I have managed to finish the build so I thought I would share a picture of the finished model prior to it's public unveiling at the Scottish Nationals in Perth this weekend.

Thanks!! I thought of asking for a pic, it's looking great head on!
I'd never heard of this aircraft before till i saw it here. The kit is still available, 29£+postage on Freightdog's site. Might even get one of these some day, got me thinking of a few changes that could look good...
When you can, please, do spoils us with some pics, ok?  ;D

The kit was released in three boxing's, FDR72-001 P177R Air Defence Fighter, FDR72-002 P177N Royal Navy & FDR72-003 P177K Export Fighter. This build used the Air Defence Fighter which has a different rear to the fuselage that the other two kits which incorporate an arrestor hook. I also have the Export Fighter version which will probably not use any of the decal options provided in the kit  ;D

As for pictures, not until the weekend as I have to re-shoot some beauty shots tomorrow before I pack her away for the trip to the show as not all of the pictures I took yesterday came out ok, camera shake and focus problems so its out with the tripod tomorrow.

Completed Build!

P177R XN723 3 Squadron Royal Air Force 1968

Formally flying Canberra's at RAF Geilenkirchen which moved to RAF Laarbruch in January 1968, the squadron badge stayed at the base with what had been a detachment of Sanders Roe P117R's who were temporarily formed as 3 Squadron for most of the year including the Fiftieth Birthday of the Royal Air Force, the Anniversary colour scheme for which is shown on the model.

Kit: Freighdog FDR72-001 P177R Air Defence Fighter
Model built by Gondor (Alastair Macfarlane)
Decals by Kit Spackman and hand painting as well as from the Freightdog kit

Its not that the build was without difficulties... I had to paint my own squadron bars which took a few attempts to get everything right, its not 100% but it will do

Needless to say lots of head banging I saying rude words but the end result is worth it I think.
