Had to go out to Alberta to do some training. What a time ! Got my ticket to enter the Cold Lake Weapons Range too.

Who's the pig in poo-poo ?

Captain Canada

Thanks dude !

The Hawk is probably from 417 Squadron...I think ! The RCAF uses them for the NFTC as well as training/aggresor roles for our own forces. If you look at the sixth pic down you can see three of them taxiing.

I've never seen a place with so many gate guardians!

And it's obvious why it's called 'COLD' Lake!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

AAAGH! It's either a strike Dakota (quite rare nowadays) or its mother had an illicit transatlantic relationship with  a  meteorological Hercules called Snoopy

Hi Todd, nice pics.  sorry I couldn't get up there to meet you, would've been nice.  BTW it's only 6 1/2 hrs drive to Bonnyville, not the 8 I said, keep forgetting I'm a 100 miles further north than Calgary.  Back in 2001 or 2 I went to the airshow they put on and had a great time there.

It was one of the biggest NATO training bases for quite a long time, the weapons range is about as big as half of Europe.
