I am looking for a PZL-Mielec M-28TD Bryza or a Shorts Skyvan/C330/C-23 Sherpa scale model.  I went to squadron.com, HLJ.com and google with no success. Can anybody point me to a supplier?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Firstly, welcome aboard.

Although out of stock, this site has the Airfix Skyvan available:

or here (if you have excess cash to dispose of!)

As for the Bryza, Broplan make a vac kit:

Aeroclub allegedly produce a C-23, but from what I've read online, they're as rare as 'rocking horse poo'.

Aeroclub did make the C-23 (a conversion for the Skyvan).  Unfortunately, when they do appear on EvilBay they got for quite a considerable sum of money.  I've seen several this year but haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much money.    :banghead:

Its strange.  Like buses, models on EvilBay seem to come all at once.  A drought for months and then you'll see half a dozen all within weeks of each other.  :blink:

If you want to try cardmodelling, there is a fairly nice paper Skyvan available:

Some pics of the allegedly produced Aeroclub 1/72 Sherpa alluded to in a previous post.  It's a multi-media kit,

The box;

Vac-formed fuselage, there's a clear vac wind shield too;

Injection and white metal parts;

I've not had a Skyvan in my collection for quite a while (built one many moons ago) but I'm not sure if the Sherpa is actually a scaled up Skyvan, it seems to be quite a bit larger from what I can remember the Skyvan being, the Sherpa fuselage is all of 9 1/2" long.  I do agree, they are very hard to find.

The Skyvan-Sherpa lineage goes Skyvan - Shorts 330 - Shorts 360 - C-23 Sherpa.

The 330 was a Shed with a longer fuselage and wings but still with twin fins, the 360 was a bit longer still but with a single fin and no rear ramp, and the Sherpa was a military version of the 360 but with the 330's twin fins and rear loading ramp.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

and the C-23C's were Short 360's bought on the second hand market and converted by Shorts to C-23 standard.
They can be identified from the A models by the fact that the A's only have a couple of windows in the fuselage sides while the C's have the full length row of windows.

Hopefully this link will work

The decals that come in the kit are for three USAF Sherpa schemes, although the decals are all the same for all schemes, everything being plain black.

That Airliners.net pic has US Army titles, is that where all the 'C's were used.
