Having just acquired the Italeri 1/72 F-19 via Evilbay, I immediately thought of making it as a Navy aircraft - this would explain why it was never seen, delivered straight from the factory to the carrier and hidden away below deck. Any thoughts?

All I can say is I'm really looking forward to this one!!

Good idea. You can add a tailhook (in a stealthy fairing), maybe strengthen the landing gear a bit. As for the paint scheme, you could use the dark gray (with black leading edges) seen on the B-2.

I like this idea.  Precursor to the F/A-37 Talon & EDI UCAV from Stealth?  Might be worth looking there for paint ideas.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Even better: a navalized F-19 in USMC markings...just a thought...

I will be following this one with interest as well.
The Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah, the Men's department.

Go for it!  Might I suggest more wing?  Looks like it would be short on lift for low speed carrier approaches.  Would look great navalized.
