Scott Hards interpreted for Mr Kunihiro Suzuki, owner of Finemolds at ScaleModelworld and it is posted on Youtube (did any of you attend this?).  One of the questions was if he had ever had a flop.  The kit he thought of as their worst seller was one of the planes from Sky Crawlers (I couldn't tell which one or if it was both).  Needless to say he indicated there would not be any more of those produced.
Now I would love to get either or both of the 72nd scale kits as I loved the designs from this show and there were several others that would look good in kit form but doesn't sound like this will be.

That really is disappointing, I bought the concept art book and was floored at the incredible amount of detail that went into every aspect of the film especially the aircraft.

That's quite surprising! It's been OOP and sold out everywhere for quite some time now. I only got one because I bought it as soon as it was available.

I think Fine Molds only ever made the 1/48 Sanka Mk.B. The 1/72 kits were by Bandai.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Looks like you are correct, they did the 48th scale Sanka.

In 72nd it was Bandai and Kotobukiya.  Looks like the Sanka is still available on Amazon but $48.95 for a 72nd scale single engine prop, that's Hasagawa prices.

I have the 72nd sanka kit. You get two planes in each box. Hence the price
I always hope for the best.

Hi. I´ve the Sanka kit on 1/72 too. I put it decals of Hikoki 1946.  ;D

Does anyone know anything about the other aircraft of the movie?; particulary if there is kit that has two push engines.

Other than thinking Sanka was Coffee the question could be is Crimson Sky, What-if, Sci-fi or Fantasy and if its one of the last to then its a limited market.
