Hey Guys, a little bit ago, i was Surfing Google when a Question Struck me:What If the X-20 Dyna-Soar had been Used as the basis for a Carrier Strike Fighter? would this be a little Too 'Gerry Anderson'? my thought was, since they Used an X-15 in a Thunderbirds Episode as a ZELL Fighter, Why not try Something Similar with the X-20?   What Say you? Thanks for looking. Dan

Interesting. Don't know if it's very realistic (you'd have to scale it down somewhat) but certainly worth trying!

think You'd want to have a Go at depicting an X-20 as a Strike Fighter? no problem if you want to,You're a Master at Doing Very Convincing Aircraft Pics,IMHO! Dan

Why not? I'll have a look at whatever pics of the X-20 I have on my HD and see if anything inspiring comes out of it...  ;)

The problem with the X-20, compared to the X-15, for this kind of thing is that the latter had it's own engine whilst the Dyna-Soar didn't, since it was intended to be launched on top of a seriously big rocket. To use it in the way it was intended, your ship would have to look more like a floating Cape Canaveral than a carrier. Plenty of scope for Gerry-esque schemes though.....

Verticle launch aircraft carrier?  It would look like a hedgehog.  How to land it?
