What the wiki link doesn't tell you is that each engine powered only 'one' propeller each, either engine could be shut down and the prop to that engine feathered.

SOP for starting a Gannet was to use the built-in starter to start the front engine and prop, wait till it was up to power, and use the prop-wash to start the rear unit!

One of my Field Engineers was a Crew Chief on AEW Gannets and we'd spend hours talking 'plane talk'.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

Seeing the pictures of the C-119 with the piggyback jet engine reminded me that there was a German OV-10 that was fitted with a Jet engine in a simmilar way.
