What's stronger - Milliput or Apoxie Sculpt?

Hey all,

I've been doing some major putty work in preparation for another putty-laden project, and I've been wondering - which is stronger after it's cured, Milliput or Apoxie Sculpt?  The reason is that the pointed nose of this project will be putty, unless someone tells me otherwise, in which case I might just saw the tip off, bond some styrene to it with superglue and sand it to shape.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I think Milliput is going to be stronger, but Apoxie Sculpt will be easier to shape. Styrene idea sounds good also

I think a styrene tip is the way to go. Make sure you use a solid styrene rod though; I've had some stock that turned out to have a small hole at the core.

And I'd use the rod as the starting point and sculpt the putty around it. That's a stronger construction than just gluing a styrene tip on.

Ditto what Hobbes said.  The epoxy putties don't have the strength required for small pointed tips. They tend to chip out or the fine tip snaps off easily. I would use solid styrene rod for the center, pointed part and build up the contour around it with the epoxy.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

OK, thanks for the tip (no pun intended).  I've gotten a piece of styrene, heated it up with a heat gun to get the piece to conform with the surface, glued it on with CA, the put Apoxie Sculpt around it.  Hope this works!
