A couple of pics of a finished model that originally was going to be a real world build of an VF-111 example for my collection.

Hated the Matchbox kit so much that I whiffed it into this and I`ll restart my VF-111 one once I get my hands on a better kit.

On the plus side, I then thought why not admit it to the Aussierama GB on here, so here it is. (There is a WIP if I need to add it??)

A Panther with the Australian Navy during the last stages of the Korean War. Lend leased from the United States, they remained in service until the introduction of the DH Sea Venom.

Added the `Sharks Mouth` to spice it up a bit and I`m reasonably happy with scheme. Still a little upset at the kit though...!!

Sharks mouth suits it
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Totally agree..the sharks mouth looks right at home on this bird....

Found somewhere (@BM I guess) that you want to try the Hasegawa kit the second time. If you want to have the best one, try the Hobbyboss - much better than the old Hassi (it's cockpit is wrong BTW). And for the same price, even cheaper. Don't forget Hasegawa/Hobbyboss make the F9F-2/3, which is the earlier version and the Revell/Matchbox did the F9F-4/5.
I think even the old Matchbox creation will look a bit better if it gets a shiny surface, rather than having this dull appearance. IMHO you can eventually paint the inner, non folding portions of the wings (between the fuselage and the wing fence) in aluminum and break the overall blue.

I would advise caution with this idea as it could be that the reason the inner portion of the wing was in aluminium may have been a repair rather than a paint scheme.

No, this is simply a still from the "Bridges of Toko-Ri". I don't know was there any real a/c with this paint scheme. But for a whiff it's pretty nice, isn't it?
The model used in the movie was sold some time ago for 3500 $ or so.

P.S. To correct myself - the "Black Knights" (VF-154) used the scheme with the inner portions of the wings in aluminum (not NMF!). Post Korea maybe
