I'm not sure what 1:48 20 mm cannons would scale to in 1:72  40mm perhaps if so shes equipped with 4 x 40 mm cannon

A scale-o-rama twin engine skyraider
Bang on 30mm cannons in 72nd if my Maths serves me well

Funnily enough, I've been thinking about something similar for the Skyraider.  Looking good there!

Looks too French to me -- will it have yellow & red stripes ?

I know that it was a German (with experience at Nakajima in Japan) who designed the Boomerang so maybe we had french immigrants too ???

you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

The glass nose looks rather Russian to me.   Perhaps a refugee fleeing Stalin's purges from Ilyushin?

Needs a C-47 style cargo door on the side and a ball turret!!  Are you going to replace the bombs with something WW2ish?

Funny you should say that as it reminds me of the Petlyakov Pe-2 in some way  although all the glazing is German  nose vie He111 and canopy salvaged from a Do 217

Once again, I'm late to the party. 'Bunyip' is what I was going to use.

Oh well, your project seems more than worthy of the name, keep at it while I wrack my tiny brain for something else.

I don't see why names can't be shared. Especially as they'll run out over the course of a year otherwise plus some of the Aussie fauna doesn't lend itself to aircraft

the Supermarine Box Jellyfish or the Fairey Funnelweb spider  don't trip of fthe tongue.

RAAF designation for P-63: Bell King Brown Taipan Mk.III... It's so crazy... It might just work :drink:

There are many uniquely Australian names - animals, birds, insects, Aboriginal.  Instead of "Bunyip" call it a "Yowie" (A "Yowie" is a creature similar to the Yeti or "Big Foot" in Aboriginal folklore).   "King Cobra" - "Taipan" - http://This website should give you plenty of ideas and its only the venomous Snakes downunder!  ;D

I might go with 'Wombat', as this thing could be a bit of an earth-mover. It's actually something I started on a few years ago and haven't gotten very far with, a Bolton Paul Defiant converted to a tank-buster and ground attack. No turret, cannon pods from a Hurricane IIC, Vokes filter from a Spitfire Vc.
