Thank you very much. Actually, much of the background presented here is true (and I was suprised to find a lot of material!). AFAIK, the Q-6 was developed up to the prototype stage in/until 1989, but then axed in favor of the bigger JH-7 that took another 10 years or so to get up in the air. The variants and equipment details are fictional, too, but are based on real world Chinese equipment, so that this is at least plausible.

I had a twisted imagination thought roll through my head... what would an F-16 look like with side intakes?  I'm going to go on a masochistic venture and buy a Kitech F-16 as a cheap donor for my own A-6 model, and I was thinking - what if I do the opposite as well? Mate the side intakes and MiG-23 nose to the Viper's body?

I have a cheap F-16 around, even MiG-27 intakes - just would lack the MiG-23 nose...

What about a swing-wing/VG F-16 with the wings from a Tornado GR1 or F3?
