Basically what it says on the tin a Destroyer with a ram bow. A can opener for those pesky pressure hulls.

Should it curve down or upward? Upward, so the ship rides up over the submarine rather than being pulled/pushed downward. That way the destroyer doesn't follow the sub down.
Think icebreaker bow, a double-curve forward from the prow, to a point, then a curve down and back.

Escorts in RL usually had reinforced bows for ramming U-Boats particularly as the war progressed and lessons had been learnt.   While a useful tactic and it did occur, the frequency was low and usually the ramming ship was forced to immediate return to port at low speed because of the damage incurred.   The rammer had to catch the U-Boat either on the surface or just submerging so they had to be very close when they discovered the submarine and making quite a bit of speed.
