Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

All the advise I can give about emigrating Ian, is to give it at least five years, then decide what you want to do.  When I got to Canada there were five other families that arrived the same day (us guys had all signed on to work at a workshop), one family went back to the UK after only one week ---  :o , another went back after 6 months --  They didn't give it a chance at all.

Good advice, and duly noted. We agreed before we left that we would seriously re-assess at the end of twelve months, it coincides with the first part of Frau Doktors' contract finishing... then most likely we will give at second year; after that we should know for definite one way or t'other.

Confuscious (maybe)

Good to hear that Ian, going around to the other side of the world is a huge expense, coming back too soon you'd be paying for it for the rest of your life.  We stuck to our five year plan and then became Canadian Citizens, we've in our 32nd year here now and there's no intention of going back -- ever --- well, maybe for a holiday -- or two  ---
