If there's not, I can certainly cast one or two.  Can't do any spraying for a few days as 1. the compressor I'm using needs a moisture trap and 2. the other compressor has a moisture trap but I've no hoses the correct size.

Hi Colin,

Many Thanks for your answer and the replacement wings for the Avro 720 (send with my new order).

If (I sincerely hope so) you release a prototype conversion set fro the Trumpeter EE Lightning in 1/72 scale the best reference for the P1B prototype is in the following book (http://www.theaviationworkshop.co.uk/profile-13-english-electric-lightning-in-worldwide-service-p-13.html)
You have three profiles of the P1B prototype in three configurations (first flight, armament test and with the modified tail fin).  A set with the three configurations (and decals) will be welcome !

Regarding a "What if" version the P8 is also a good idea (although I don't known if the airframe is very different from the EE 6) and the VG (variable Geometry) Lightning (a two seater) to complete the duo !

Best Regards,

Marienwagen

The Wooksta!

The P8 is very different from a Lightning.  Apart from the area ruled fuselage, the nose section is much larger in diameter.

Converting the Trumpeter Lightning?  Throwing it away and starting from scratch would be a better bet.

Many thanks.  Again, no hurry - will collect at Telford if you have any by then.

The Propulsion Duct intended for the Mk I was bench tested but the tests indicated that the increase in speed was not enough to warrant fitting it under the Spit.
The RAE looked at the system again with the advent of the V1 threat and concluded that the duct could be made to work. They again however had problems with drag and pressure losses during bench testing and the V1 had been beaten before the duct was ready.
All from British Secret Projects - Hypersonics, Ramjets and Missiles.

British Secret Projects Volume 4: Hypersonics, Ramjets and Missiles.  Chapter 10: Early development of ramjets in Britain. The "propulsive duct" Spitfire and the RAE's work using a Mustang with ramjets.

Can anyone provide any further details on the Mk IXc airframe this was tested on, please (serial number, any pics, etc)?  Hoping I'll get round to using the Freightdog conversion at some point soon!
