Time to join the fun, I think. An advanced variant of the Gloster Meteor (designated FAW.25) on exercise in the Northern Territory, around 1966. Upgraded radar, ejector seats and missiles will feature. Currently putting the Matchbox NF together, and looking for my stash of Red Tops...

Contact Colin at Freightdog and see if you can order some Blue Dolphins (Radar guided Red Tops) to give a mix of Radar and IR missiles .

Alternatley the Freightdog P12 conversion fitted to a B-8 Canberra might give you the chance for a mixed Red Top/Red Dean mix for a really Meaty Missileer

I got a set of Red Dean with Blue Dolphin/Radar Red Top from him at Telford before last.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

OK, not much to show so far, but I've got most of the airframe together, wingtips chopped for launch rails etc:

And I've made a couple of Radar Red Tops:

A way to go yet, though I'm thinking about possible colour schemes already. Do I go for a Woomera trials machine, or service scheme and markings...?

I like the idea of a trials machines, you can stick to real world schemes used at Woomera for Fireflash trials and such or devise your own.

You've done a bit of surgery to spine, new canopy to accept bang seats?

All sorts of bang seats will fit under the NF14 canopy but the taller ones need the square mounting block moulded into the cockpit floor Dremel'd off first. I've got three different types installed in my various PR19s and they're all relatively straightforward to install.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The seats are from a Strikemaster, and they'll be under the standard NF.14 bubble canopy. I did reduce the mounting blocks a bit, but I haven't modified the spine at all. The thing I have done is put a brace in behind the backseater, so that the top fuselage part fits better.

Cockpit has had some paint, PSR now underway to fill in all the gaps on this kit. 'Tain't the best-fitting tooling, though I've built much worse....
