Ok, guys as promised, I have been tinkering with my P-51D Night Fighter....

Here is the sketch I posted before, all black (though I havent decided on gloss, semi, or flat) with D-Day stripes.
And I have come up with its name "NIGHT-MARE", so I will work on some possible nose art in that direction.

The ol' Revell 1/32 P-51D kit...

Opened up the gun ejection ports and smoothed the appropriate areas on the upper and lower wing surfaces...

And built a new seat out of the B model style seat that comes with the kit...
(before (Schick-Johnson seat) and after modification (Warren McArthur seat)

And the finished seat and engine...

And some added cardstock, painted and detailed cockpit...

I will be fabbing up a fuselage tank and radio/battery rack, as well as doing some internals in the belly scoop.  No seat belts as of yet, as its probably going to get a pilot and be displayed in flight.

So many models....So little time!!

Nice work so far!  I'll be watching this as it looks interesting. Will you be useing a wing mounted radar like the Corsair?

That would be a nice idea. Flame dampers would be another nice detail?
