So, what is the most well, unusual model have you seen commercially available?

I'm not talking about the salacious "Phoenix Follies" sort of thing, I'm talking about a model you were really surprised to see having been commercially released.

This is one I've just found.   A figure, in 1/43 scale of "Dear Comrade, № 1 (LI Brezhnev)":

I know there have been figures of Stalin, Hitler, etc. but this is the first one I've ever seen of Brezhnev.  I suspect it would be ideal for the Moscow Parades diorama, on top of Lenin's Tomb, taking the salute.  ;D

Can't help but think a 1/72 or 1/35 figure would have been useful though.  You know, for the really BIG parade?   ;D

Preiser do all sorts of oddball figures, usually including the current US prez:

Okay, not exactly obscure, but where exactly do you use them in a typical railway layout?

And on a similar note:

Bleesing a new papal train maybe? Or maybe he's just seen this one, which is possibly not worksafe (or wifesafe for that matter).

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

I  think that you could be right!

But if Wallace is President, that probably means that Grommit is actually in control,  which sounds like a very good idea to me!

Well, there's this:

http://robot4less.com/bandai-injection-machine-160

Yes, a model of the machine that makes models! I think they also did a model of the tool making machine as well. I have the injection machine model, i need to make little 1/60th scale boxes of the kits they make with the machine. Maybe even little boxes of this kit. And inside of them, models of the machine that makes the model of the machine that..ow! My brain just popped!

In the same vein there's the Fine Molds scale model of a milling machine:

Well I'll be damned, that's a smaller version of the one I mentioned in the F-35 thread that Rolls-Royce use to machine the lift fans!  :o

Verlinden do quite a few 1/35 scale machine tools of WWII vintage. I suppose they are intended for dioramas featuring bombed out factories
