Army of One

Just seen this advertised.....it's about a mile down the road from me.....can't not go really....even though it's in the middle of nights.....open at 10.30am at the K2 centre which is actually about 5 miles from Gatwick airport...or 15 min walk from Crawley train station....

Should have added......it's on April 28th.... :banghead:

IIRC they used to hold those on the airport itself, in a big building just on the left as you turn into the airport grounds.

I went a few times and was ASTONISHED at the size of the crowd that went there, not to mention the stuff you could buy too. Anything from a Concorde swizzle stick to a complete Pan Am Captain's uniform!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

An airline Captain's uniform? Gee, how could I get into trouble with that?
Walk up to the Information Kiosk. "Excuse me? I seem to have mis-laid my aircraft".
"Just which planet are you from again"?

Kit......I'll email the organiser.....I just posted the info from the events page in AMW mag.....it did state Gatwick Airport in the title.....but the location given, K2, is a complex about 5 miles from the airport....

I've an idea the building that they used to hold it in was demolished a while back. I'll check on Google Earth.  ;D

[Later] Yes, it seems to have been replaced by a large building that houses a firm called Westerngeco, whoever they are.
