Those doors over the landing gear struts? I hate to say it but they look like Beagle ears from some angles!  I can see how the cartoon dog 'Snoopy' got connected with a Sopwith Camel!
Don't tell me the gear retracts! That would be the greatest folding trick this side of oragami! 
I think this would take the 'Lock-Nut Cup' for using lock-nuts to keep things together for a full flight.
