My rendition of the F-15N, built on Revell/Monograms 1/48th F-15C. I spent quite a bit more time on this than my F-18, adding the IFR probe (from an F8), cat launch bar (from an F18) and chin pod (from an F14D).

I'm about half way through the decal process.

Cool, I bet the navy wouldn't have minded having some of these either

Love it.

But refuelling would be a real bitch with the probe tip behind the pilot! Only guys with permanently cricked necks need apply....  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

No cricked necks. Pilot quals mandate he/she be a parent, everyone knows we have eyes in the back of our heads  ;D

I'll get this IFR thing right one of these days

Very nice.  Only suggestions but likely too late: beefier tail hook, looks like the standard F-15 barrier system: thicker main gear struts, and as suggested the refueling probe further forward.  But you look nearly done, so well done!

After seeing this thread, I pulled out my Aero Series 28 F-15 Eagle book which had a reference about the proposed F-15N. The book mentions how a Navy study showed that increased weight and being armed with phoenix missiles mounted like the sparrows would add quite alot of drag that resulted in degraded performance. I like how you re-equiped the refueling probe for Navy use.

In the real world the Japanese have put the I.R. nose sensor fitted on your model below the nose, to resemble the ones fitted to the Eurofighter above the nose cone.
