Westway Models make resin desktop display models.  Some have complete undercarriages, like the BAC-111.

While very expensive (~300 pounds for a SVC-10 in 1/72 scale), they do some interesting subjects both in uncommon (1/50,1/25,1/36) and common (1/72,1/100) scale.

Well worth a look.  Some interesting subjects and liveries.   http://www.westway-aircraft-models.com/index.html

GULP! You ain't kidding they're expensive!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

tempting, but i dread the price
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.

They are rather coy about prices.   I suppose we could all band together, buy one and share it around?  ;D

I'd love a VC-10 and BAC-111 in 1/72 scale.  So many possibilities.  AEW, in-flight refuellers, MPA, popflers, etc.

However, I'd either have to sell the first born or a kidney to afford even one, let alone both.
