Encountered another temporary modelling 'hold' when I got back to NZ. The nozzle of my Iwata Revolution BR has somehow developed a split whilst I was back in the UK... not certain how that happens whilst it was 'laid up' !! – anyhoos the result is now I need to find a supplier of Iwata spares here in NZ or (more likely) have one sent from England.

Either way any spraying will be delayed for a couple more weeks. Not that I'm too worried, plenty of building I can get on with in the mean-time !!

You could try Aus, we have Iwata's & their suppliers here, too, & we're closer than the UK. ;)

A trick learned ages ago from an airbrush ilustrator friend:
when done with your airbrush don't leave the needle fully seated in the tip,
the spring tension alone can cause the thin metal of the tip to split or
deform. Loosen the needle retention nut and slide the needle back slightly,
then retighten the nut.
This also protects both needle and tip from being damaged if the brush is
dropped, or if curious fingers pull back on the trigger and let it fly forward.  ;)

Yep on that, Guy, but even including the postage, the nozzle is cheaper from the UK

The problem with a high exchange rate.  How much is the Pacific Peso (NZ$) worth nowadays?

Friend over on Kiwi Modeller-dot-com checked with an NZ outfit called 'Smits' they asking over $100.00 NZ and they don't have them in-stock. With postage from the UK, it's $42.00 and it's already on the way !!

WOW !!!  That is something !!!   It really is odd isn't it ?  Last year I did a deal with a guy in Finland. The Euro going up and down cost me 10$US in lost profit because I was too slow transferring the payment to my bank account from PayPal,by one day !!!
