Airfix Bf.109G Sky Pirate.

Back in January, I posted a Trans-World Airlines P-51B escort fighter that was used to protect airliners and cargo planes from air piracy, in the unsettled days following WW2. Well here is the Bad Guy, in person.



Bad Guys do wear Black(Testors square bottle). I saw the Japanese anime movie, "Porco Rosso", and sorta got the idea for this from that. The Mustang was just a marriage of an old kit in the stash, leftover TWA decals, and too much idle time on my hands. I didn't get the idea for the Messerschmitt until I purchased a Fine Molds 1/72 Curtiss R3C-0 from the Porco Rosso movie. It had the skull and snake decals in it, so I just went with it.

Build is OOB. I painted this one comic book style in Black, Yellow, and Red. Here is a shot of the villain with the hero that I posted earlier.

Nice one ! Bad guys do always seem to be dressed in black ( except for Batman ;-) and I love the look of the skulls. What was the idea...shoot it down then go pick up the pieces for the scrap metal merchants ?

Black.....? Skull......? Sounds like the best marvel character around.......the only believable one anyway....! Great kit builds as well  ........any plans for any other a/c for these two......? A large flying boat/amphibian maybe......

I did a black-with-skulls Spitfire a couple of years back - will have to try and find pics. I also have several Porco Rosso-themed models either in progress or planned, including updated mounts for both Porco and Curtis, as well as some ragged pirate machines.
