Those camouflaged helicopters all look different to me, the rear one is an AH-1 Cobra which Japan has. The front one is more like an AH-64 Apache with Japan roundel, that is a whiff!
The middle one in the air is unusual, not being a Cobra or Apache. Twin wheels at front, tandem seating, rockets on side but a fenestron tail rotor is not used by any attack helo I know of... Unless it's actually a Chinese Harbin Z-19 sneaking up from behind!

Gondor

It's not a Z-19 as it's too stepped at the front. Maybe an A129?

A129 doesn't have the Fenestron tail rotor.

Actually, those are real, too. They've ordered around 50 of them. I don't know whether they've got them all in service, but they've been flying them for a couple of years now. Lovely colours.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Ooh, looks interesting. But is there a 1/72 kit out yet?  ;)

Thanks for the replies, shows what I know about Japan using helicopters! ;D

It's only an issue if people kick up a fuss...!

Japan are most certainly not the only ones stirring things up. This is really a very minor thing, and pales into insignificance compared with actual events.

That is very true.

Hasegawa, 1/48th I think, saw the same review a few months back
