I'm using this to paint my Raiden and knocked it up in a one, one, two with scrap cardboard, tape and some rubber bands---it holds my planes in a variety of possies quite sturdily for easy airbrushing...the color is WEM Earth Yellow

You should post some pictures with it empty, too. If you did we could see ,fully, just how it was made. Outstanding ideas on this !!!

Thanks, I can see several uses for this. Just the thing to use in my paper box paint booth.

first up I cut a piece of cardboard for the base and then cut two perpendicular pieces with a shallow "v" notch in them....then taped the two perp pieces to the base...I thought that would be enough, but they started to fall over so I wrapped some tape around them at their bases, but the tape kept coming loose....the only solution was to ease two rubber bands over the two perp pieces, but that caused them to be drawn together....the two cardboard spacer "bars", untaped into positon, soon fixed that and now my models can easily be enticed into taking up more positions than the Kama Sutra.....the rubber bands will go after while of course, but they can be easily replaced
now, how can this design be modified/improved? two more side pieces with notches, perhaps????

What I love about this forum - people being creative and enjoying their hobby, a sense of irreverent fun AND really good modelling tips like these.

Interesting solution. Does your paint dry quickly enough that you can move the model around during a paint session? I'd expect the paint to be damaged by contact with the cardboard.

I really like your idea. I'm going to have to make something like it for myself. Thanks for sharing the idea.
