Grumman Skyrocket floatplane

So, the Skyrocket being that incredibly cute short-nosed silhouette, it did deserve to be floatplanized, and here it is.


Let us assume, in order to make it a whif story, that one of them, taken from a part of the production meant for the british, was experimentally fit with the same floats designed for the Spitfire, with in view to make it a racer. In that perspective, a first coat of bright red was applied, and this kit represents the just dried phase, before any additional markings were applied.

As you can see, adaptations to the seaplane role involved adopting four-blade propellers, and a tail addition for stability.







(Actually I have a previously built single central float version of the Skyrocket, but that one is yellow)

Congratulations !!!  You have turned wierd into wierder !!!  Beautiful model though,just "different" looking.....   I like it a lot !!!

The bright colour is typically ericr's... and a good camo for the Tomato Sea ;D
