Now this is one of those things I thought I knew but on thinking about it it's a case of I think, I think I know

So what were the colours used to identify RAF Squadron flights ? Pre WWII as I'm not sure they were used WWII ? I want to use them on a current project to tart her up a little. And yes I have spent a fruitless 30mins on Google, obviously asking the wrong questions  :banghead:

Thanks in advance lads

A flight was red, B flight was blue and C  flight was yellow

planes in the flight normally had spinner and wheels in flight colour, flight leaders would have spinner, wheels and tail in flight colours

squadron leaders sometimes flew in "A" flight leaders colours but sometimes flew in a special "squadron colours" set up

in true RAF style not all squadrons conformed to this pattern some having odd squadron/ flight markings EG some painted the spine of the aircraft in flight

colours as well as or in place of the tail
Remember, if the reality police ask you haven't seen us in ages!
When does "old enough to know better" kick in?

Thank you very much indeed sir  I was confident on red for A flight, almost confident on blue for B but it was the C flight colour that had me thinking.

C Flight she will be
