They're CIVVIE F-104s????  :o  :o

Totally amazing! Sometimes I just HATE and DETEST the CAA as we can't see or hear such sights in the UK! (Sorry Dave....)

Why does the J-79 in an F-104 make that glorious howl but two of them in an F-4 don't?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I don't think this team is from the CAA. I believe they are on their own.

HERE'S the team's website.

If you want to build one, Italeri has just re-released (or is about to) their 1/72 Starfighter with these markings. LINK

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Nonononono, I meant the UK CAA, the Civil Aviation Authority, who seem to think it's their God given right to stamp out everything that any one of us would deem 'interesting' in aviation in the UK.

A British equivalent to the Starfighters display would be the guys at Bruntingthorpe being able to fly their two Lightning F6s in formation from a QRA take-off, but that's apparently not safe over here, just as a Shackleton is considered dangerous to fly as well.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

But IF you're the head of the CAA AND a Vulcan fan, suddenly that gets a permit to fly....interesting what?????

I believe it's because it's trying desperatley to get OUT of a flying death trap.....
If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die
