I have found that brush, spray cans and airbrushing all have their places at least for me.  I do think some modelers could benefit from learning to spray or airbrush, or to improve their brushing technique. We all likely made horrid brush stokes and runs with our early attempts, but as with most things, with practice things get better.

Spray cans can also give an excellent result.  I find they give a great finishes especially on some colors that I find tough to brush- yellow, white an silver especially.

There is no "right" way of course. Build what you want and keep it fun.

Absolutely agree with you.

Use what you want to use, what you are comfortable with, and what gives you results you are happy with. Ignore certain schools of thought that say "there is only one way"

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wise words indeed oh sagacious one.
But one should also hold it in ones mind that while there are many ways to get to ones goal there are always many more ways to f*** up.

And I keep discovering new ones  :banghead: ;D

The other thing I should of said was ; no matter how long you have been modelling there is always something new to learn. Talk and listen to others where ever possible and then make your own mind up.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Seems to me that "The Fellowship of the Rattlecan and Hairy Stick"  is alive and well ...

Count me in, too!

Whatever.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I use an airbrush & a hairy stick, both have their uses, & I only moved on from the Fellowship of the Rattlecan because over time the airbrush becomes a cheaper option & doesn't lay down the paint quite so thick.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!

What's an "air-brush"?

Wot you use to brush your 'air.
Something I haven't required for years now...
