So, are we going to place a group order, and have a whole pallet of the things delivered to Telford next year?  :P

Alvis 3.1

QuoteI heard on the grapevine that Airfix were going to cancel it, update the F-111 mould to F-111K status, cancel that and then re-issue the Buccaneer.

Just a rumour.
Yes and apparently...all the modellers wanted was a Phantom anyhow......

Guess we'll just have to make Canberra models for another forty years then.  ;)

A cratefull, Hobbes? Of TSR 2? At the Nats? What a spiffing idea!  B)

NARSES2

As said above - wonderfull news and show's what can sometimes be acheived by gentle persuasion/encouragement.

Talked to lots on non whiffers who all said they would be buying at least a couple, once persuaded we wern't fooling around again. Also the enthusiasm from the US representatives there suprised me a bit.

Talking of non-whiffers it's becoming apparent that there are a lot of people out there now openly admiting they do the odd WIF just for the fun of it - the Lybian F86 floatplane "Gadaffi's Personal Camel Chaser" that one guy was explaining to me comes to mind. He said he'd bring it next year. Don't know if any others there noticed this general "coming out of the closet" ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

That's what happens with these movements. Other people ignore us, then berate us, then see the fun we're having and want to join in, but mostly in private at first, only coming out when enough people get up the courage.

The TSR.2 could also be a "gateway" model for some people; because it was never in production, they're free to experiment with the end result. Once they've learned how fun that is, they'll be tempted to try it again with some other kit in the stash, and then they're hooked.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

::Chuckle:: You're so right, Joe.  I'm in another fandom that's following much the same path.
