Good place as any to keep them off the ground and keeping one's back intact?   ;D

Captain Canada

Maybe they're going to use them for propulsion, since it has no main rotor.....

That one has a stealth rotor, it's there but you just can't see it......  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I saw them working on that when I was up there in early October. I've still got the pics on my camera...I wondered why they were doing it at the time, but didn't saee anyone about to ask.

The true story, is pretty much as Brad said.

They have been repainting the ex Danish F-104 parked behind the Hind, out of sight in the photos. The replica winders were removed to make the painting of the underside a bit easier.
The guys doing the work placed them on the swatter rails for a joke. And Barry the chairman of the board of Trustee's saw the funny side, and allowed the winders to stay on the Hind while the paint crew finish the 104.

Barry knows me of old and knew I would like the look of it once I spotted it. He also liked my idea on knocking up a set of dummy Hellfire racks and missiles to hang off the other pylons on the MIL ;D
