You're Our Great Leader though, who knows what punishment may be meted out unless I spoke out thus.  ;D :lol:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I got to look at the X-32 I just received from Kit last night, it is definitely one of the ugliest aircraft out there.  I'll have to see what's involved to convert it to a AVX-70

You won't believe this Robert but I found ANOTHER one in my Loft yesterday!  Aagggghhhh!  :banghead:

Why did I buy one, let alone TWO of them?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Kit, studying it, I'm beginning to think it's actually not 1/72 scale.  Here's why --

I dry assembled some of it just to get a better visual of it, the thing that I really noticed was the canopy  --- as I had my AV-19 only inches away I was surprised to see that the X-32 canopy practically matches the Harrier GR.5/7 canopy in looks, right down to the little vents right at the rear end of the canopy.  The only thing was, it's a bit bigger --- like it was 1/70 scale or 1/68 --- I wonder  :unsure:

But I can definitely see some of the BAe projects in the air intake style --- another thing I noticed, inside the air intake, it looks quite like what you see on the F-35, only because there's only one intake as opposed to two and has to feed a 43,000 lb thrust engine,  it's just bigger --

The X-32 used an AV-8B canopy, so it should be an exact match scale-wise

Interesting CammNut, because the X-32 canopy in the Italeri kit is quite a bit bigger.  Which is why I suspect the kit actually isn't 1/72 scale --
