Help please, Callum (aged 6) and I started building the Matchbox F-86 Sabre that was sent to me by a fellow list member.  The cockpit was there when we started but it is gone now.  We have searched the table, the floor, underneath the units, down the back of the settee, everywhere we can think of but we just cannot find it.

So does anyone have a spare cockpit or know where I can get a replacement?

Many thanks

Can't help you with that part but I do have a 1/48 Academy Sabre unbuilt and gathering dust. Decals are missing but all parts are present. happy to send him that.

I may have those bits.

I had a Matchbox Sabre that donated its wings to someone's project on here so it must be SOMEwhere. I'll have a look in The Loft and see if I can dig it out.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

I hope you find it.  He was so disappointed.  He is starting a Matchbox Mustang tomorrow instead.

I've looked high and low and I can't find the darn thing anywhere, so sorry. I must have donated the rest to another good cause I think.  :banghead:

The only quick solution I can think of is to get the new Airfix Sabre and use the cockpit from that, but then you're left with ANOTHER cockpitless Sabre.....

I'm going to be selling some of my stuff at the Hamex 5 event the weekend after next and I'll keep an eye out for an M'box Saber there.

I'm assuming your talking about the 1/72 kit, I've got one too somewhere which I've used the wings for something else.  Where're you located, UK ?
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike
