Ok, as the title says, I'm in need of a part pretty urgently.  The front windscreen for my Revell HO ix/GO229 has fallen off the airframe and disappeared. Does anyone have a spare they can let me have in exchange for folding beer vouchers etc?

Hi Lancer,

Sure i can help you out! what's your address? I'll check out the costs. If the costs are below € 3 or $ 5 i won't claim the costs.
I'm in Europe (the Netherlands).....

Revell's spare parts service is pretty good (and free, iirc). Have you tried them?

Actually, no. I wasn't aware they had a spare parts service. I'll have to look into it.

Instructions for requesting spare parts are hidden in the fine print of the kit instructions booklet.

Thanks Harro,

Looks like it's time to get the magnifying glass out..

In Germany, this service is called "Department X". You can contact them through the website, or send an email. They need the kit number and the exact numbers of the parts you need (instructions of the current models are available as PDF files on the website, too). I made good experience with them, at least domestically - I did not receive any feedback on my inquiry (needed all the clear parts for an original Matchbox He 115, which has been re-released by RoG and ist still on sale), but maybe 5 or 6 weeks later I got a small parcel with all the parts I had been asking for, free of charge. It's worth a try.

I even had the case that I needed a decal sheet from Hasegawa some years ago, for an exotic OOP kit (an anime version of a Kyushu Shinden). Even THAT was possible, never expected it.

On the other side, Tamiya is more troublesome, as they refer to domestic importers, and these tend to charge horrible fees, so that buying another kit for the missing parts can easily be more economical.
